DO YOUR PART – DON’ T SPREAD IT!
- Don’t transport firewood or wood for woodworking, even within Tennessee without consulting the recent Tennessee Department of Agriculture TCD Quarantine map! If camping, purchase firewood from a local source at your destination. Don’t bring wood with you or return home with unused wood.
- Don't buy or move firewood from outside the state. If someone comes to your door selling firewood, ask them about the source, and don't buy wood from outside the state.
- Watch for signs of infestation in your black walnut trees. If you suspect your black walnut tree could be infested with TCD, visit ttp://www.tn.gov/agriculture/regulatory/tcd.shtml for an online symptoms checklist and report form or call TDA's Regulatory Services Division at 1-800-628-2631.
- Look for declining black walnut trees; if found, contact your county agent, state forester, or state department of agriculture. Help reduce the spread, report suspect trees!
